Now you can 3-D-print yourself as a Cubs statue for the World Series-EBY

                               EBY

founder, said the statues of Cubs greats outside Wrigley Field inspired the idea.
"Those statues outside of Wrigley Field, which everybody takes their picture with — why not get to be one of the people yourself?" Friedman Steele said.
The custom figurines will be available in full color or a bronze finish in 3-inch, 6-inch and 9-inch models, which will cost $70, $200 and $350 each, respectively. They take about a week to produce and can be shipped or picked up in person.
The prices are about 10 percent lower than what the 3D Printer Experience usually charges for figurines, Steele said.
Most of the figurines will be printed in gypsum, the mineral used to make plaster of Paris, although Friedman Steele said they could be done in titanium or gold. The prices she quoted would not apply for those special orders, she said.
Fans can mimic the Wrigley Field statues, copy the signature pose of their favorite current player or show off their own stance, she said. They'll get on a rotating platform and stand perfectly still for a full minute while a camera captures their every detail. Customers will receive a digital copy of the 3D rendering along with their figurine.
